Texas Tech Wins in Rout
Kasib Powell scored 21 points, and No. 25 Texas Tech held Houston to 28% shooting in a 62-48 victory Wednesday at Lubbock, Texas.
Texas Tech (9-1) never trailed against Houston (2-7), which made only 17 of 61 shots. Coach Bob Knight earned his 796th college victory.
The Red Raiders led by as many as 28 points early in the second half. But Houston went on a 18-4 run that whittled Tech’s lead to 12 with less than a minute left.

Lionel Chalmers had surgery on his broken right foot and will be sidelined for about a month, leaving No. 19 Xavier without its most experienced guard and floor leader.
