Knicks Hand Raptors Eighth Straight Loss

Kurt Thomas had 26 points and 14 rebounds and Allan Houston scored 15 points to lead the New York Knicks to a 95-75 victory over Toronto on Wednesday night at New York, handing the Raptors their eighth straight loss.

Michael Doleac and Charlie Ward each had 11 points for the Knicks, who dominated the final three quarters and were never threatened in the second half. New York has won two straight and three of its last four games.

Alvin Williams had 15 points and five assists and Jelani McCoy had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the short-handed Raptors, who were without starters Vince Carter and Antonio Davis, as well as forward Mamadou N’Diaye.

Miami 107, Atlanta 73 -- Rookie Caron Butler scored 25 points and Eddie Jones had 20 to lead the Heat at Atlanta.

Miami, which has won seven of nine, sent the Hawks to their largest margin of defeat this season. Atlanta, which committed 25 turnovers, has lost four of five.

Reserve center Vladimir Stepania scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds for Miami.
