All Dolled Up for a Comeback
A winner of six of seven starts at 870 yards, He Doll will try to end a two-race losing streak in the $15,000 Truly A Pleasure Handicap tonight.
Owned by Margarito Farias and trained by Jorge Farias, the 4-year-old Pritzi Dash gelding ended 2002 with successive losses. Those came after he rattled off six victories in a row after being stretched out to 870 yards.
He Doll will have five opponents, including the sharp appaloosa Sell Short. Owned by Cathy Monji and trained by Kelly Lewis, the 4-year-old colt has won two in a row against softer fields and has been on the board in 12 of 14 lifetime.
Earlier in the card, the Billy Lewis-trained entry of Favoritt and Excalibur Mm head a field of six Arabians in the $10,000 Oasis Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs. The lineup is completed by Proof Arbi, Mucho Caliente (who has won 10 of 24), Ghaffir (who has won three of four) and Past Rimal, last seen defeating $6,250 claimers Nov. 2.
The picks: 1. Dollars Slc. 2. Cs Crimson Tide. 3. She Storms. 4. Favoritt. 5. Meter Us Gold. 6. Courageous Mode. 7. Go Green Go. 8. He Doll. 9. One Big Love.
