Mother’s Trial in Baby’s Death Starts This Week
The Riverside County district attorney said he hopes the prosecution of a Perris woman charged with killing her baby -- possibly with methamphetamine-laced breast milk -- will help stem use of the drug.
Amy Leanne Prien, 31, will go on trial this week for allegedly murdering her 3-month-old son, Jacob Wesley Smith.
Prien’s attorney, Stephen Yagman, says the woman is innocent, and that Dist. Atty. Grover Trask is pandering to the public by linking the death to methamphetamines.
