Mystical Sign Aims to Be at Top of Another Class

A winner of four of seven in 2003, Mystical Sign will drop in class in search of another victory in tonight’s seventh, a $4,000 claimer at 870 yards.

Owned by Hillario Navarro and trained by Adan Farias, the veteran gelding won against $5,000 foes June 12 and drops a notch seeking his ninth career victory. Victor Diaz, who won a race on the California bred March 2, is back aboard.

Farias will also send out Seeks Joy, a 4-year-old gelding who will break from the outside in the field of seven. Owned by F. Shane Mosher, the son of Murrtheblurr has won four of 24. His most recent victory came when he beat $6,250 claimers Feb. 6.

The remainder of the field includes Mean Gene, a seven-time winner, Humphreys Begone, who beat $4,000 claimers wire to wire May 11, Be A Winner Jj, Addicted and Hats Fancy.

Shots in the dark: Be A Winner Jj steps up in the seventh for trainer Rodney Hart. Mrs Goodwrench debuts in a soft spot for trainer Dan Francisco in the ninth.
