Driver, 85, Crashes Car Into DMV Office
An 85-year-old man preparing to take a road test Friday ran his car into the Van Nuys Department of Motor Vehicles building, leaving a small mark near the front door, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man, who was not injured, was instructed to move his car from the parking lot into the drive test line.
Instead of backing out of the space, he stepped on the accelerator, lunged forward and struck a support column of the building, authorities said.
His vehicle sustained minor damage.
DMV personnel revoked his driver’s license pending further investigation, the CHP said.
