From Staff and Wire Reports

All-Pro center Barret Robbins was put on the Oakland Raiders’ physically-unable-to-perform list after failing physicals on the eve of training camp Thursday.

Robbins’ assignment to the list was expected. He needs a few more days to finish rehabilitation from arthroscopic knee surgery performed in April.

Robbins has been welcomed back to the Raiders since he was suspended just hours before the Super Bowl after a two-day drinking binge that included a trip to Tijuana and thoughts of suicide.

The recovering alcoholic has since spent time at the Betty Ford Center, and he rejoined the Raiders for off-season minicamps -- though Coach Bill Callahan said Robbins must earn back his job as Oakland’s starting center.
