Mayor Signs Ordinance for Equal Benefits

Mayor James K. Hahn signed an ordinance Friday that expands Los Angeles’ equal benefits law, which requires companies doing business with the city to provide domestic partner benefits to their employees.
The ordinance applies not only to service contracts but to competitively bid procurement and construction contracts.
