Woman Dies After Her Car Is Broadsided

A woman died Tuesday after her car was broadsided by a sport utility vehicle, police said.
The driver of the SUV, Shalizeh Jahedman, 30, of Irvine, failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Ridgeline and University drives, authorities said, striking a car driven by Simin Amindari, 54, also of Irvine.
The SUV then struck a second car, police said.
Amindari died at Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center.
Jahedman was treated for a concussion; the third driver also was injured.
No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
