As a soccer fan, I read "Greed Scores a Goal" (editorial, Nov. 23). I found it very strange. Certainly I do not advocate exploitation of children. But Freddy Adu is an exceptionally gifted player who has been scouted by teams even in Europe. I don't think anyone is forcing him to play a game he obviously loves and for which he has a God-given talent. Fortunately he has chosen to remain here in the U.S., where he can receive a good education as well as play. When the 2004 Major League Soccer season starts, maybe you would like to watch D.C. United and then make your own assessment of whether he should be playing soccer.
