Council Offers Reward in ‘Eco-Terrorist’ Arsons
From Staff and Wire Reports
By a 6-3 vote, the City Council voted Tuesday to offer a $25,000 reward for information about the “eco-terrorists” suspected in an Aug. 1 fire that destroyed an apartment complex under construction and fires on Sept. 19 that destroyed four homes under construction and damaged two others.
Banners left at the fires claimed that the Earth Liberation Front, a radical environmental group, was responsible. The Building Industry Assn. has also offered a $25,000 reward. No arrests have been made.
