An 11-year-old boy was injured Wednesday morning when he fell in the crack between a commuter train and the station platform in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The boy was getting off a Green Line train at the Vermont Station at about 7:20 a.m. when his backpack became stuck in the door, said Lt. M. Mitchell of the Sheriff’s Department.
Inspector Edward Osorio of Los Angeles County Fire Department said the boy was airlifted to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
The hospital could not confirm details about the boy’s condition or whether he was a patient.
