What: “Boricua Beisbol: The Passion of Puerto Rico.”

Producer: Major League Baseball Productions.

Distributor: Q Video.

Price: $14.95.

This year, Puerto Rican baseball fans got a chance to see some of the best players in the game when the Montreal Expos traveled to San Juan to play 22 regular-season games at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.

A team playing “home” games in Puerto Rico was a first for Major League Baseball. For Puerto Rican players such as Roberto Alomar, Juan Gonzalez and Jose Vidro, it was their first chance to play on their home soil as major leaguers.

This 35-minute DVD, which can be viewed in English or Spanish, gives a glimpse of that experience. It includes bonus footage of Roberto Clemente’s 3,000th career hit and Hall of Fame enshrinement.

The Expos, a team looking for a home, found one in the Caribbean island. But if you’re looking for background information on Montreal’s reason for going there or whether they’ll stay, you won’t find it here.

There are no hard-hitting questions being thrown at Commissioner Bud Selig -- this DVD was, after all, produced by Major League Baseball -- but it does show the beauty of the island and the passion of Latino baseball fans.

Investors from Portland, Ore., Washington and Northern Virginia have shown interest in the team, but Puerto Rican fans may have made a case for keeping Los Expos in their new “home.”
