HEISMAN WATCH
THE HYPE
Chris Perry, RB, Michigan
Perry started the season in relative anonymity, soon rose to the top of the list and now has hit bottom -- all in a matter of three weeks. An 11-carry, 26-yard performance in a high-profile intersectional game won’t curry favor with anyone.
THE TYPE
Rashaun Woods, WR, Oklahoma St.
Mind-numbing numbers are what voters love. Woods’ Division I-A record seven touchdown catches against SMU will be a statistic repeated from now until December. If Woods can produce anywhere near this level in the Big 12, it might push him into contention in a season without a clear-cut choice.
