Rix in Charge in No. 10 Florida State’s Rout

Chris Rix threw two long touchdown passes to Craphonso Thorpe, and Xavier Beitia kicked four field goals as No. 10 Florida State routed Colorado, 47-7, on Saturday at Tallahassee, Fla.

Although the Seminoles (4-0) couldn’t get their running game going for the second consecutive week, Rix passed for a career-high 394 yards in three quarters, completing 30 of 39 attempts.

Thorpe caught scoring passes of 56 and 37 yards and finished with 205 yards on eight catches -- both career bests.

Colorado (2-2) managed only 39 yards in the second half and quarterback Erik Greenberg, who finished 14 of 30 for 192 yards, was sacked four times.

Stefan LeFors threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead Louisville (3-0) to a 42-14 win over Texas El Paso (0-4) at Louisville, Ky. UTEP has lost nine in a row and 17 straight on the road.... Aaron Leak threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns to lead Troy State (2-2) to a 28-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana (2-2) at Troy, Ala.
