Police arrested a suspect Thursday in the drive-by shooting outside Taft High School in Woodland Hills this month that injured three students. They also named two other suspects, who are still at large.

The announcement came hours after a similar shooting occurred at a bus stop outside Van Nuys High School that left a 37-year-old-old woman, not the intended victim, in serious condition.

In the Taft shooting, the arrested suspect was identified as Kristopher James Goveav, 20, of Granada Hills. Police said he was the driver. He was booked on three counts of attempted murder and held on $1-million bail.

Police identified the alleged shooter as Terry Boyd Taylor, 20, of Van Nuys and the third suspect as Jeffrey Trinell Young, 21, whose hometown isn’t known.

That shooting occurred Sept. 9 at a bus stop crowded with students. The men shouted a gang challenge and then fired toward the gathering, police said.

Meanwhile, another drive-by shooting occurred at 4 p.m. Thursday at Victory Boulevard and Cedros Avenue, a block from Van Nuys High, as students were walking by.

A tan Honda with a man and woman drove past the bus stop at normal speeds, witnesses told police, when four or five shots were fired from the driver’s side.

The gunfire missed the intended victim, police said, but struck the woman in the torso.

She is expected to survive.

Members of the LAPD’s gang unit immediately began scouring the area, but made no arrests.

Miller said police don’t believe the shooting was random, but authorities would not say who may have been targeted.

It appears the woman at the bus stop “was not the intended victim,” Miller said.

The woman’s name was not released.

It wasn’t known how many students were at the bus stop, but, Miller said.

The two shootings don’t appear to be related, he said.
