Man Dies as SUV Hits Pole in Brea

A man was killed Wednesday when he ran his SUV off the southbound Orange Freeway in Brea, authorities said.
The SUV hit an embankment, then careened into a light pole and a street sign. The man, whose name was not released, was declared dead at the scene near the Lambert Road offramp about 7:20 p.m.
“We don’t know the reason for the accident,” said Officer Katrina Lundgren, a CHP spokeswoman, adding that it is under investigation.
The driver was alone in the car, she said.
