On “Hank Aaron Appreciation Day,” the Atlanta Braves gave their former slugger a game he could really appreciate.

Johnny Estrada had a career-high four runs batted in and the Braves celebrated the 30th anniversary of Aaron’s 715th home run with a 10-8 victory over the New York Mets on Thursday at Atlanta.

A night after 15 players came to the plate during an 11-run inning, the Braves sent 10 up in a four-run sixth that gave them the lead for good.

“I think Hank would have been a little more proud if somebody had popped one out of the yard,” second baseman Marcus Giles said.

The Braves held a ceremony honoring Aaron before the game, and several of Aaron’s former teammates attended, including current Chicago Cub Manager Dusty Baker. The Cubs lost to Cincinnati earlier in the day.

Aaron’s wife, Billye, sang the national anthem.

Arizona 6, Colorado 5 -- Richie Sexson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning at Phoenix.

Sexson hit a pitch from Shawn Chacon (0-1) 434 feet onto the Bank One Ballpark concourse in left-center, his second homer of the season.

Colorado had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the 11th on Todd Greene’s leadoff homer.

Pittsburgh 6, Philadelphia 2 -- Ryan Vogelsong limited the Phillies to a run and six hits over seven innings at Pittsburgh.

Raul Mondesi hit a two-run homer in a three-run seventh.

Florida 3, Montreal 0 -- Dontrelle Willis pitched five-hit ball into the eighth inning, went three for three at the plate and scored with a headfirst slide to lead the Marlins at Miami.
