Pope Adds to His Record by Beatifying 6 People

VATICAN CITY
Pope John Paul II extended his record as a saint-maker when he beatified six people, the final step before making them saints.
The people’s lives spanned the 19th and 20th centuries. They bring to at least 1,330 the number of people beatified by John Paul, who has created 477 saints, more than all the other popes combined.
