A Santa Paula man suspected in a hit-and-run accident that killed one bicyclist and injured another was arrested this week after he turned himself in to police, authorities said Tuesday.

Richard Buenrosto, 36, surrendered Monday to Santa Paula police, who then notified the California Highway Patrol. Buenrosto was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run in the Aug. 4 traffic accident. Buenrosto is accused of fleeing the scene after his 1998 Honda Accord struck two bicyclists riding on the eastbound shoulder of Telegraph Road in Ventura.

Darlene Bryant, 55, of Ventura suffered major injuries and later died at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura. Lennis Deering, 68, also of Ventura was treated for minor injuries and released.
