Trainer Mullins Doubles Up

Share

Trainer Jeff Mullins will be well represented in today’s $75,000 Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar.

Mullins, second to Doug O’Neill in the Del Mar trainer standings with 19 racing days left, will send out Glick and Lest We Forget in the Green Flash, a five-furlong contest on turf.

Owned by Bob Bone, Glick is an 8-year-old son of Theatrical who has won 14 of 36 on the grass and is returning to the surface after a try on the main track in the Bing Crosby Breeders’ Cup Handicap on July 25. In his second start on dirt, Glick finished eighth of 10 at 15-1.

Bred and owned by Betty Mabee’s Golden Eagle Farm, Lest We Forget has yet to lose in three starts.

Court’s In Session, F J’s Pace, Geronimo, Giovannetti and the overmatched Gray Jag complete the Green Flash cast.

Race of the day: Dynamic Lisa, who has won two of three starts on the Saratoga turf course, is among a dozen New York bred fillies and mares scheduled to run in today’s $100,000 Yaddo Handicap at Saratoga. Cornelio Velasquez will ride Dynamic Lisa for owners Herbert and Carol Schwartz and trainer Scott Schwartz.

One for the road: Reflected Life makes her first start for trainer Armando Lage after a claim and seems the only filly capable of rallying from off the pace in a speed-laden field in today’s third at the Bay Meadows Fair. David Lopez will ride the 3-year-old Gold Fever filly in the $12,500 claimer at 5 1/2 furlongs.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using Commander’s Flag, Mud Shark and Good Gold in the sixth, Glick and Lest We Forget in the seventh and Brite Lassie in the eighth.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 1/57. Money: Previous day/meet total: $3.60/$305.60. Total money bet: $410.
