And to live your very own rock ‘n’ roll fantasy, head to the Roxy for Metal Skool, a rock-comedy troupe so adept it makes spandex and big hair look sexy again.... Hollywood bars Daddy’s and the Well are offering their first New Year’s Eve two-fer. One cover charge gets you wristbands for both bars and no waiting in line....

L.A.’s Dolce Enoteca is hosting a fancy-shmancy dinner with an Italian jazz band. Now that’s amore.... Bricktops at the Parlour Club in WeHo is promising a Courtesan Masked Ball, with a late-night performance by underground L.A. legend Brian Grillo.... At the Skybar on the Strip, there’s a six-course dinner and a view to die for (and that’s just the servers).... The El Guapo Cantino is offering a “drunk-fixe” menu, i.e., one fee gets you free drinks all night (hurling optional).... Those hoping to bottom out in the new year can get started at Hollywood’s Concorde, which is hosting a “Less Than Zero” ’80s theme party. Gag me with a spoon.... Jenson’s Recreation Center in Echo Park will be filled to the gills with burlesque dancers, cabaret acts, DJs and pianists.... DJs Jason Lavitt and Joseph Brooks will be entertaining at Tempest on Santa Monica Boulevard.... The Knitting Factory in Hollywood is going punk, with a Varla Magazine bash featuring TXT Bomb, the Adicts, Throwrag, Dinah Cancer and Speedbuggy....
