Pepperdine (13-14, 8-4) at San Francisco (16-12, 6-6), 7 -- The Waves are on a season-high four-game winning streak. Point guard Shaun Davis made his first game appearance against Loyola Marymount after a two-week suspension and assisted on Glen McGowan’s game-winning dunk with 2.8 seconds left. Pepperdine, which plays St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference regular-season finale Sunday, is in a second-place tie with the Gaels.

Loyola Marymount (13-12, 4-8) at St. Mary’s (17-10, 8-4), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9) -- Loyola is trying to pull off a season sweep of the Gaels and a victory paired with a loss by Santa Clara would lift the Lions into fifth place. Third-year Coach Randy Bennett, a former Pepperdine assistant, has resurrected the program after the Gaels finished 2-27 in 2000-01.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (8-14, 3-11) at UC Riverside (8-14, 5-9), 7, Ch. 64, KPRO (1570), KUCR-FM (88.3) -- Riverside, which is trying to secure a spot in the Big West Conference tournament, has lost nine games this season after holding second-half leads, including five leads lost in the last two minutes. Varnie Dennis, the conference’s leading scorer, had 22 points in the Mustangs’ 84-70 victory Jan. 31 -- San Luis Obispo’s last win -- but he is questionable because of a knee injury.

Idaho (12-13, 8-7) at UC Irvine (10-14, 5-9), 7, Ch. 23, KUCI-FM (88.9) -- Irvine sits in a three-way tie for sixth place with Riverside and Cal State Fullerton, and Idaho has vaulted to third by winning seven of eight. The Anteaters were dealt a blow when starting guard Mike Efevberha (11.1 points) was suspended indefinitely for violating team and athletic department rules, Coach Pat Douglass said Wednesday. Idaho guard Dwayne Williams leads the league in three-point baskets with 65 in 164 tries.

UC Santa Barbara (13-10, 7-7) at Cal State Fullerton (9-14, 5-9), 7, KWRM (1370), KTMS (990) -- Santa Barbara has lost four of five and will try to avoid its first three-game Big West losing streak since 2000-01. Fullerton played its worst game this season in the first meeting, a 33-point loss at Santa Barbara. Center Pape Sow has a conference-leading 11 double-doubles.

No. 24 Utah State (22-2, 14-1) at Long Beach State (6-17, 4-10), 7:30 -- The 49ers haven’t defeated a ranked team in 10 years and will not have forwards Anthony Coleman or Chris Jenkins, who are sidelined because of season-ending injuries. Utah State is battling Pacific for the regular-season title. Guard Cardell Butler is coming off a career-high 31 points against Fullerton.

WOMEN

UC Santa Barbara (19-5) at USC (14-11), 7, KMPC (1540) -- The Gauchos, who compete in the Big West, have won nine in a row and are closing in on a ninth consecutive 20-win season. The Trojans lost to Stanford and California last weekend. USC needs to win tonight, Sunday at UCLA, and its first-round Pacific 10 Conference tournament game (which could also be against the Bruins) to keep its NCAA tournament hopes alive.
