Crews Working to Restore Power

Repair crews struggled Wednesday to restore power to about 6,000 customers in the dark for several days, as another winter storm loomed on New Year’s Eve.
Electricity had been restored to 98% of the 259,000 Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers who lost power after Sunday’s storm, according to officials with the utility. The remaining customers were in rural areas around Redding and parts of Humboldt County, PG&E; spokesman Jon Tremayne said.
