Colgate (6-4) at Loyola Marymount (7-4), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9) -- The Lions had lost four of five games, but junior guard Charles Brown helped break them out of their slump with a career-best 25 points in a victory Tuesday over Cal State Fullerton. Steve Aggers won his 350th game in 24 seasons as a head coach. Sophomore guard Wes Wardrop remains day to day because of an injured left foot. Colgate started its two-game West Coast trip with a 73-71 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday. Guard Alvin Reed sparked the victory with 14 points, including four free throws in the final 15 seconds.

WOMEN
USC (4-5, 1-0) at Oregon (8-4, 0-2), 7, McArthur Court -- The Trojans got off to a good start in conference play, beating UCLA last Sunday. The return of senior guard Jessica Cheeks, who had 17 points against the Bruins, gives opponents someone else to defend besides Ebony Hoffman and Rometra Craig. The Ducks cracked the top 25 with an 8-2 start but stumbled last week with losses at Stanford and California. The Ducks are 5-0 at McArthur Court. Junior guard Corrie Mizusawa leads the Pac-10 in assists per game (6.8).

UCLA (5-5, 0-1) at Oregon State (7-4, 1-1), 7, Gill Coliseum, KIIS (850) -- The Bruins are coming off an upset of No. 18 Ohio State and should be confident, having swept the Beavers last season. Junior guard Shannon Howell averaged 22 points and four rebounds in Oregon State’s split against Stanford and California last week. The Beavers’ 70-67 win at California ended a seven-game Pac-10 Conference road losing streak.
