A $25,000 reward was offered Friday for the capture of the robber who fatally shot a teenage clerk in a 99 Cents Only Stores outlet in Huntington Beach, authorities said.

Shawna Wolfgram, 19, died Thursday evening at the store in the 16000 block of Beach Boulevard, said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Mike Reynolds. The robber was not deterred by the large number of customers and employees inside.

Investigators waited until Friday afternoon to release scant information about the killing. Reynolds said only that Wolfgram was shot and that the killer fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

No other employees or customers were injured.

Police said the gunman walked into the store at 6:20 p.m. and approached Wolfgram. Reynolds said he demanded money from the clerk.

“Something happened and he shot her,” Reynolds said.

The gunman hurried out of the store and was last seen running north on Beach Boulevard, Reynolds said.

Witnesses described him as white, between ages 40 and 50, with graying hair and a mustache and wearing a black cap. He is about 6 feet tall and 150 to 170 pounds.
