Each room has a private bath, a TV-VCR and either a whirlpool tub or a working rock fireplace. It’s kid-friendly, with nutritious snacks left out around the house and kids’ videos available. There are lots of nearby activities -- whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, fishing, exploring the surrounding town of Kernville or just lazing on the peaceful veranda watching the world and the river drift by.” Doubles $125-$140, with breakfast.
