NBC Wins With Kentucky Derby

Bettors who had Smarty Jones in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby weren’t the only winners.
NBC had an overnight national Nielsen rating of 8.3/18 for its Derby telecast, making it the highest-rated Derby since ABC drew a 9.5/26 in 1992.
This year’s telecast was up 8% from last year’s 7.7/17. Locally, the Derby drew a 6.4/16 rating.
NBC, which has telecast the race for four years, now has the three top-rated Derbies in the last 12 years.
