Update -- The Galaxy, which is 1-3-6 in its last 10 games and has won three in a row only once this season, needs to win its final three matches to win the Western Conference title. If Kansas City wins or ties tonight, the Wizards will clinch the title and earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Galaxy Coach Steve Sampson is 1-2-2 since taking over from Sigi Schmid. The Wizards already have won the U.S. Open Cup this season under Coach Bob Gansler.

Sampson will probably shuffle his defense because Chris Albright is available again after serving a one-game suspension. A victory by the Galaxy, combined with a loss or tie by the San Jose Earthquakes or Dallas Burn, would secure Los Angeles a playoff spot.
