Authorities asked for help Friday in finding two men who stabbed and punched a motorist in Fullerton.

The 25-year-old La Mirada man was listed in stable condition at a Whittier hospital, Fullerton police Sgt. Steve Matson said. His name was not released.

On Aug. 28, the man was riding in a Ford Explorer when three people in a pickup pulled up next to it and cursed at the man and his friend, Matson said.

The truck followed the Explorer to a red light at Malvern and Gilbert avenues. The two men in the pickup got out, punched and stabbed the victim through an open window, then fled, police said. The victim’s friend drove him to the hospital.

The assailants are described as 20 to 25, about 5 feet, 9 inches, and 175 pounds. One man had dark, shoulder-length hair pulled into a ponytail, police said. The pickup was described as a blue, late-model, extended-cab Chevrolet Silverado with orange flames painted on the front. It also had custom rims and a modified lift suspension. No description of a woman with the men was available.

Anyone with information should call Det. Matt Malone at (714) 738-6534.
