Police Surveillance Unit Shoots Suspect
A Los Angeles police detective wounded a burglary suspect after unmarked police cars halted the getaway vehicle Thursday.
Detectives with the Special Investigation Section had followed three suspects, two men and a woman, for a mile after a residential burglary, said police Sgt. Catherine Plows. At Oxnard Street and Woodman Avenue, three police vehicles surrounded the car and a detective fired one round, hitting a passenger in the midsection. He is expected to survive.
The other two suspects were arrested. No weapon was recovered.
