Crew Unbeaten Streak Ends at 19

New England ended Columbus’ 19-game regular-season unbeaten streak, scoring twice in a four-minute span of the second half for a 3-0 victory Saturday night at Foxboro, Mass.

The Revolution (1-0-1) took the lead in the 63rd minute when Clint Dempsey headed in a cross by Jay Heaps from the left wing.

Pat Noonan nudged a loose ball past Crew goalkeeper Jon Busch in the 82nd minute to make it 2-0. Four minutes later, Andy Dorman took a cross from Taylor Twellman on the left and beat Busch with a short shot.

New England was 0-2-2 last season against the Crew (1-1), but eliminated Columbus in the playoffs.

D.C. United 1, Chicago 1 -- Defender Mike Petke scored for United (1-0-1) in the 40th minute at Washington, and rookie forward Chris Rolfe tied it for the Fire (0-1-1) in the 50th with his first MLS goal.

FC Dallas 0, Colorado 0 -- Carlos Ruiz’s shot in the 89th minute hit the right post and Dallas (1-0-1) outshot the Rapids, 14-8, but neither team could score at Denver. Colorado fell to 0-1-1.
