Share

Indian Flare will try to keep a Hollywood Park hot streak going for Bobby Frankel’s barn today.

The 3-year-old Cherokee Run filly, owned by Juddmonte Farms, will make her first start since March 9 in the seventh, a $42,000 allowance for older fillies and mares at seven furlongs.

In her debut Feb. 6 at Santa Anita, Indian Flare broke her maiden by five lengths at today’s distance. In her subsequent appearance, she finished second at 1-2, losing to eventual stakes winner Brooke’s Halo.

Frankel has won with three of his first four starters at the meet.

Indian Flare will have seven opponents, including Resident Alien, a 3-year-old daughter of Bertrando who has won her last three main-track sprints. Owned by Bob Bone and trained by Jeff Mullins, Resident Alien will be ridden by Victor Espinoza.

Race of the day: Royal Emblem will make her Northern California debut for Green Lantern Stables LLC and Team Valor and trainer Jenine Sahadi in today’s seventh at Golden Gate Fields. Dennis Carr will ride the 4-year-old, South African-bred filly in the $42,000 optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles on turf. A winner of two of seven in her native land, Royal Emblem was fifth in her U.S. bow on June 5 at Hollywood Park.

One for the road: Vow is on top of his game for trainer Kelly Breen and can win his third in a row since being claimed for $5,000 in today’s sixth at Aqueduct. Apprentice Channing Hill will be aboard the 7-year-old Rahy gelding in the $7,500 claimer at six furlongs.

Exotically speaking: A late pick four using the Royal Year entry in the fifth, Threesixtysecurity, More Dust, Currituck and Go Coyote Joe in the sixth, Resident Alien and Indian Flare in the seventh and Lucky Monkey, Chills And Thrills and My Honey’s Trippin in the eighth.
