Authorities have identified the Anaheim police officer who shot a parolee from Moreno Valley after the suspect led police on a car chase through Anaheim, Stanton and Cypress in what police said was a stolen sport utility vehicle.

David Watson, an 18-year veteran of the department, shot Angel Carrillo, 27, three times in the abdomen Nov. 22 in Garden Grove when Carrillo turned toward him holding a semiautomatic gun, said Lt. Mike Handfield, a spokesman for the Garden Grove Police Department.
