Carmelo Anthony knew he hadn’t taken that many shots and he wasn’t paying attention to the scoreboard. So it took a moment for him to realize he just had a career night.

Anthony scored 42 points to lift the visiting Denver Nuggets past the Charlotte Bobcats, 101-85, on Tuesday night.

“I didn’t even know I had it,” he said. “I felt good out there, getting some open shots, some easy shots. You know, 13 for 18, I’ll take that every night.”
