Brown Duo Lead Fullerton, 67-59

Bobby Brown scored a season-high 24 points and Jamaal Brown had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 67-59 victory over host San Jose State on Wednesday night.

The Titans (5-2) won despite blowing a double-digit lead in the second half for the fourth time in their last five games. Fullerton led by 14 points with just over five minutes remaining but had to hold off the Spartans (4-7), who scored eight consecutive points to cut the deficit to 62-56 with 2 minutes 42 seconds left.

Demetrius Brown had 14 points and a season-high 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season for San Jose State, which has lost six of seven.

Fullerton trailed most of the first half but closed to 27-25 at halftime on Bobby Brown’s three-point basket at the buzzer. Brown and Justin Burns, who finished with 14 points, combined to score the Titans’ first 16 points in the second half.

Puget Sound 115, UC Riverside 111 -- The host Highlanders (0-8) blew a 13-point halftime lead.

Senior guard Rickey Porter had a career-high 34 points, tying for the fifth highest individual scoring total in Riverside history. Larry Cunningham had a double-double with a season-high 27 points and 11 rebounds and Dedrick Bates had his first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Zack McVey scored 19 points for the Loggers (7-1), an NCAA Division III school.

Hawaii 66, Loyola Marymount 63 -- Ahmet Gueye, Matt Lojeski and Julian Sensley each had 14 points and Hawaii (5-2) rallied in a late game Tuesday in the first round of the Rainbow Classic at Honolulu. The Lions dropped to 3-7.
