Woman With 100-Plus Animals to Face Charges
A woman who kept more than 100 animals in her Edna Valley home could face felony animal cruelty charges when she appears in court next month.
The district attorney’s office said it was weighing misdemeanor or felony charges against Cynthia Walsh, 56, who will be arraigned Jan. 11. During a raid at her home, investigators found 82 dogs, 24 birds, seven cats, four goats and a duck.
The county Animal Services department is caring for the seized animals. Three birds have died because of stress and health problems, a spokesman said. Walsh’s attorney said she wanted all her pets back.
