Pick Six Pools Overflow
Horse players will have two hefty pick six carry-overs to take a shot at today.
No one was able to isolate six winners on either Saturday or Sunday at Aqueduct, leaving a carry-over of $141,195. The pool at Gulfstream Park is $140,247.
Half of the pick six races at Aqueduct are for New York breds, beginning with a $42,000 maiden event for maiden fillies and mares.
Little Miss Amanda, who has lost 11 times, including five defeats at odds of 7-2 or less, is expected to be the favorite in the 1 1/16 -mile race. The pick six is on races 4-9.
At Gulfstream Park, the pick six begins with the fifth race, one of three claiming races in the sequence. The others are two turf races for 3-year-old maiden fillies and a $33,000 allowance sprint for older horses.
The latter attracted Blazing Purrsuit, a 4-year-old Tale Of The Cat colt who will be a single on a lot of pick six tickets.
Race of the day: Katana, who was second in her U.S. debut on Oct. 21, returns in the seventh at Santa Anita, a $52,000 allowance at about 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf.
One for the road: Fuse Quick debuts for hot trainer Art Sherman in the seventh race on opening day of a 71-day meet at Bay Meadows. He was claimed for $10,000 on Jan. 17.
Exotically speaking: A pick three using She’s Movin On, Desert Gal and Silent Kingdom in the sixth, Katana in the seventh and Prison Caper, Stormofthefuture and Gambler’s Route in the eighth.
