Sun Remains Perfect at Home

Nykesha Sales scored 19 points and Margo Dydek finished with 12 defensive rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Connecticut Sun to a 68-55 win over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night at Uncasville, Conn.

The Eastern Conference-leading Sun remain the only team in the WNBA with a perfect home record (9-0). The Sun has won 14 straight at Mohegan Sun arena, dating to last season.

Connecticut extended its conference lead over the second-place Fever to 3 1/2 games.

Tully Bevilaqua had a career-high 19 points for Indiana. Tamika Catchings, limited to five points in the first half, finished with 13.

Lindsay Whalen shot a career-best four for four from beyond the arc and scored 13 points for Connecticut.

Houston 83, Washington 65 -- Janeth Arcain scored 23 points, Sheryl Swoopes added 17 and the Comets ended a two-game losing streak with a win at Washington.

Arcain made 11 of 15 shots from the field to help Houston rally from an early seven-point deficit.

Alana Beard had 16 points and DeLisha Milton-Jones added 15 for the Mystics.

San Antonio 78, Minnesota 71 -- Marie Ferdinand scored 14 points in the second half at San Antonio and the Silver Stars ended a five-game losing streak.

Katie Feenstra added 16 points, Wendy Palmer-Daniel and Shyra Ely each had 11, and Shannon Johnson finished with 10 for the Silver Stars.

Nicole Ohlde and Tamika Williams each scored 12 points, and Vanessa Hayden finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota.

Amber Jacobs also scored 10 for the Lynx, who were going for the 100th regular-season win in franchise history.

Sacramento 64, Charlotte 54 -- Yolanda Griffith scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds at Sacramento as the Sting’s losing streak reached seven.

Tangela Smith had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six steals in her first visit back to Arco Arena, where she played her first seven seasons before an off-season trade to the Sting.
