Man Is Arrested in Knifepoint Rape of 81-Year-Old Dana Point Woman
A man suspected of raping an 81-year-old Dana Point woman at knifepoint was arrested early Sunday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
The man, who had been sought since the attack Tuesday morning, was apprehended in Dana Point, said Lt. Hans Strand. The man’s name was not released. He was believed to be in his early 20s, Strand said.
The victim, a resident of Harbor View Drive, found her door ajar when she returned from a walk. The attacker was waiting inside with a pocketknife, Strand said.
After the sexual assault, the man took a small amount of cash and left.
