Kyle Boller will reclaim his job as the Baltimore Ravens’ starting quarterback this Sunday, hopeful he can revive the team’s lackluster offense after missing seven games because of a toe injury.

Boller hasn’t played since hyperextending his right big toe in the season opener against Indianapolis. He was replaced by Anthony Wright, who produced only two wins and will serve as the backup against Jacksonville.

“Kyle Boller is our starting quarterback, and we weren’t going to change that perspective after he got hurt,” Raven Coach Brian Billick said Monday. “We have said all along, at the appropriate time, when he is healthy, we would go back to him as our starting quarterback.”

New York Jet quarterback Brooks Bollinger will start in place of Vinny Testaverde (calf) against Carolina on Sunday after a strong performance in a loss to San Diego.

In another setback for the Jets, wide receiver Wayne Chrebet (concussion) and tight end Chris Baker (broken ankle) are out for the season and were put on injured reserve.

Chrebet was undergoing more tests Monday after hitting his head hard on the turf in the closing minutes against the Chargers, and it appears his career could be over.

Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren said he will meet with defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes today to discuss how the 55-year-old former head coach of Philadelphia and Green Bay should continue after his second stroke-like episode in two months.

Holmgren and the team have stopped short of calling Friday’s incident that sent Rhodes to a Seattle-area hospital another stroke. Rhodes left the hospital Saturday and missed the NFC West leaders’ trip to Arizona and Sunday’s 33-19 win over the Cardinals.

“He will be in the office tomorrow. He is feeling much better,” Holmgren said, after talking to Rhodes by telephone Monday morning.

Defensive end Bertrand Berry has a torn left chest muscle and could be out for the season, the latest bad news for the fading Arizona Cardinals. Berry was injured in the fourth quarter of the Cardinals’ loss to Seattle. An MRI exam determined the extent of the injury.

The team said in a late-afternoon announcement that it had not been determined whether surgery would be required. Initially, the Cardinals indicated it was expected to be a season-ending injury, but later amended the statement to say the injury would be evaluated before making a decision on whether to officially proclaim Berry’s season over.
