An MRI exam confirmed what Utah quarterback Brian Johnson feared, that the pop he heard in his left knee was his anterior cruciate ligament and he was done for the season.

Johnson was on crutches with his left knee in a brace outside the Utah locker room, knowing that his sophomore season was over after he tore his ACL late in a 31-27 loss to New Mexico on Saturday.

Brett Ratliff, a junior college transfer who has thrown only four passes this season, will take over for Johnson on Saturday against Brigham Young.
