Earthquakes Win Seventh in Row

Ronald Cerritos and Alejandro Moreno scored in a three-minute span in the second half and the San Jose Earthquakes won their seventh straight game, 2-0, over FC Dallas on Saturday night at Frisco, Texas.

FC Dallas’ winless streak reached nine games, and the team has yet to win in four matches at Pizza Hut Park, which opened on Aug. 6.

Cerritos scored in the 50th minute, heading in a cross from Mark Chung. Three minutes later, Moreno chipped in a shot between the two defenders to the left side of the goal.

San Jose (13-4-8) increased its lead in the Western Conference to 11 points over Dallas (10-8-6) and 12 over the Galaxy, which plays Chicago today.

MetroStars 2, Kansas City 2 -- Ante Razov scored on a direct free kick with two minutes left in regulation, rallying the MetroStars (8-7-10) to a tie with the Wizards (11-6-9) at East Rutherford, N.J.

Colorado 1, D.C. United 0 -- Terry Cooke scored in the 22nd minute to give the Rapids (9-11-4) the victory at Denver and extend their season-best unbeaten streak to five games.

United fell to 12-9-5.

New England 1, Real Salt Lake 0 -- Khano Smith scored an unassisted goal in the 76th minute to lift the Eastern Conference-leading Revolution (14-5-6) over host Salt Lake (5-16-4).
