Carnell “Cadillac” Williams helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers end a 13-game road losing streak to Green Bay with a 17-16 victory Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Williams, the first rookie to start his career with three consecutive 100-yard games, ran for 158 to set a record for most yards in his first three games with 434. Alan Ameche had held the record with 410 in 1955 with the Baltimore Colts.

“There’s not a lot of words to describe him,” teammate Ronde Barber said of Williams. “Just put the film on and you see what you have in this guy.”

The Buccaneers, 3-0 for the first time since 2000, also got two touchdown receptions from Joey Galloway and two interceptions from safety Will Allen to win at Green Bay for the first time since Sept 10, 1989.

Ryan Longwell missed an extra-point try that left the Packers trailing, 7-6, his first miss after 156 consecutive conversions, a team record and the fourth-longest active streak in the NFL.

The Packers fell to 0-3 for the first time since 1988.

“It’s hard to find a silver lining in 0-3,” quarterback Brett Favre said. “But as they say, the show must go on and we have to find a way to win a game.”

Allen picked off a Favre pass for the second time with five minutes to play. He grabbed the ball and returned it 26 yards after Juran Bolden tipped it away from receiver Robert Ferguson at the Tampa Bay five.

The Buccaneers ran out the clock when Williams rushed six times for 46 yards.

“It is amazing, but I haven’t really thought about what I’ve done,” said Williams, a former standout at Auburn who was the fifth overall draft selection. “I definitely don’t want to get complacent or a big head or whatever.”

Packer offensive coordinator Tom Rossley, 59, was taken by ambulance to a hospital after having chest pains before the game.

Rossley, who underwent an angioplasty last season, returned to the sideline in the second quarter. Coach Mike Sherman said Rossley is expected to have more tests done today.
