1 Dead, 4 Hurt as Bus, Van Collide

One person died and at least four others were injured Saturday in a collision between a van and a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County near Long Beach, authorities said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Pat Davoren said one person died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 6 p.m. at the intersection of Long Beach and Greenleaf boulevards.
The bus driver was among those injured, he said.
