From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Two transit buses collided early Monday at Venice and Olive streets, injuring 12 people, authorities said.

One of the buses was a shuttle operated by Transit Concepts, a company with which the Metropolitan Transportation Authority contracts to cover some of its routes, and the other bus was operated by the transit authority.

It was unclear which bus was at fault. The shuttle bus skidded into the intersection shortly before 6 a.m., striking the right side of the MTA bus. The force of the collision sent the MTA bus into the gateway of a parking lot.
