Czech Goalie Hasek Injures Leg, but Extent Is Not Known

Share

Czech goaltender Dominik Hasek suffered a leg injury during the first period of his team’s 4-1 victory over Germany on Wednesday and had to be replaced by Tomas Vokoun 9:25 into the game. He went to the locker room and returned to watch most of the game, but he was to be taken for tests to determine the severity of the injury.

“If I felt good, I would have been on the ice,” said Hasek, a key factor in the Ottawa Senators’ success this season. “I made a save and then I feel a big pain between my legs. I couldn’t play. It was unfortunate.

“I don’t want to make any conclusions. It’s a sad situation, but we’ll see how I feel.”
