Three Killed When Small Plane Crashes
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Three passengers aboard a 1968 Beechcraft Bonanza were killed Saturday morning when the small plane crashed shortly after takeoff from a private airstrip, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Witnesses reported that the plane began to spin and crashed into a hilly area near the runway. Investigators were examining the debris but had not determined a cause for the crash.
The medical examiner withheld the names of the man and two women until family members were notified.
