A Deadly Jet Crash 8 Miles From LAX
A Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) DC-8, on a landing approach, crashed into the Pacific Ocean eight miles from Los Angeles International Airport. Fifteen people were killed when the plane broke in half. Thirty survived in a portion of the aircraft that remained afloat.
