The son of a Los Angeles police captain was one of three people arrested in connection with a robbery at a Westchester boutique, police said Wednesday.

Kyle Jackson Jr., 20, son of LAPD Capt. Kyle Jackson, was seen by an off-duty police officer running from the Jennifer Jeanne Boutique in the 8300 block of Lincoln Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Jackson Sr. is the commanding officer of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.

Jackson Jr., accompanied by John Robeiro, 21, jumped into a vehicle, and the off-duty Santa Monica Police Department officer followed it, LAPD officials said in a statement.

Police stopped the car about two miles from the boutique and arrested Jackson and Robeiro, along with Mallory Eddy, 20. All three are from Los Angeles.

A handgun and other evidence were found in the suspects’ vehicle, according to police.

Jackson and Robeiro were being held on suspicion of robbery and Eddy on suspicion of receiving stolen property. They were booked into Los Angeles County Jail. Bail for Jackson was set at $50,000; for Robeiro at $80,000, including a $30,000 outstanding warrant; and for Eddy at $20,000.

The elder Jackson said through a spokesman that his son has no prior criminal record.

“They are a close family and a tight family, and they’ll work through it,” said LAPD spokesman Lt. Paul Vernon.
